Quick CIP is a heat-labile recombinant version of calf intestinal alkaline phosphatase (CIP) purified from a recombinant source. Quick CIP nonspecifically catalyzes the dephosphorylation of 5 and 3 ends of DNA and RNA phosphomonoesters. It also hydrolyses ribo- and deoxyribonucleoside triphosphates (NTPs and dNTPs). Quick CIP is useful in many applications that require the dephosphorylation of DNA or RNA ends. In cloning, dephosphorylation prevents re-ligation of linearized plasmid DNA. The enzyme can quickly dephosphorylate 5 protruding, 5 recessed, and blunt ends in just 10 minutes. Quick CIP may also be used to degrade unincorporated dNTPs in PCR reactions to prepare templates for DNA sequencing or SNP analysis.

Zymolyase, produced by a submerged culture of Arthrobacter luteus (1), is an enzyme preparation which effectively lyses cell walls of viable yeast cells. An essential enzyme responsible for lysis of viable yeast cells in this preparation is b-1, 3-glucan laminaripentaohydrolase. It hydrolyzes linear glucose polymers with b-1,3-linkages and releases laminaripentaose specifically as the main and minimum product unit (4,5,10,11). This lytic activity releases spheroplasts and protoplasts in the preparation of yeast DNA prior to restriction enzyme digestion and Southern Blot analysis. The extent of lysis of yeast cells by Zymolyase varies with yeast strain, growth stage of yeast and cultural condition (6-8). Further information related to Zymolyase is obtained in the references below. PNGase A cleaves between the innermost GlcNAc and asparagine residues of high mannose, hybrid, and short complex oligosaccharides such as those found in plant and insect cells from N-linked glycoproteins and glycopeptides. PNGase A differs from PNGase F in that it cleaves N-linked glycans with or without (1,3)-linked core fucose residues.

STEMCELL Technologies DNase I, Size: 25 mg
Deoxyribonuclease I (DNase I) is an endonuclease consisting of a single glycosylated polypeptide chain with two disulfide bonds. DNase is often included in tissue dissociation protocols to digest DNA that has leaked into the dissociation medium as a result of cell damage. DNase I preferentially cleaves phosphodiester linkages adjacent to pyrimidine nucleotides in both single- and double-stranded DNA, yielding polynucleotides with 5’-phosphate and 3’-hydroxyl groups (Bernardi et al.). DNase I has been used for the digestion of human tissues such as microglia (Klegeris & McGeer), cartilage (Dunham & Koch), colon (Fukushima & Fiocchi), epithelium (Fukushima & Fiocchi), liver (Vatakis et al.), lung (Fujino et al.), neural (Fuja et al.), and stem cells (Kusuma et al.).
